What is a developer if they aren't writing code?
As AI becomes more capable at writing code, we as developers may be wondering if there's still room for us. What do humans still do better than AI?
Many of us have been taught to ignore or dismiss our uniquely human skills. But our human skills are essential tools for doing excellent technical work and for working well with AI.
We need skills such as intuition and judgment based on experience, handling complex systems, collaboration, communication, empathy, and creativity.
In my writing, I'll be talking about why those are technical skills, not just "soft skills", and how we can reclaim our humanity in tech.
I'm ready
Those of you who have worked with me know that I'm known for writing extensive documentation. You might not know that I was also an English major in college. Writing was my first love, even before computer programming.
I'm also a graduate of The Book Academy, a book writing and publishing intensive offered by 4x New York Times best-selling author, Luvvie Ajayi Jones.
Luvvie teaches everything one could want to know about book publishing, providing a clear path from ideation to publishing to making the book a success, step by step. The course offers access to resources and contacts and a whole community of fellow authors for support and coworking sessions.

And the answer is… maybe 😉
